Abu Dhabi

Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road
Individually irrigated trees
Real Camel Racing! Race tracks and all! But they use remote whips now, since using 5 yr olds is against the law now, so the guys in SUV's have to follow the camels around the track with the remotes!
Abu Dhabi

This is an actual tree farm, they have them all over the place. It's also great to see that they are doing this to have less desert.

We went to Abu Dhabi the 20th. Just to get out of town...takes about an hour to drive there....drive 80-100 miles an hour that is. Phewwwww I was glad to get there. And we were getting passed by tons of cars! It is the older of the 2 states of Dubai and Abu Dhabi (there are 7 States of Emirates total, I think) Anyway it was interesting. The Marina Mall looks like big tents.

One thing I have noticed about the Emirates...they are very clean....no highway trash. There are people out cleaning up along the highways every day. Even in town there isn't anything along the roads except flowers trees and bushes. Which by the way....every bush, every tree, every flower, every lawn that you see in these cities are irrigated individually. Yes...they use more water watering the plants than they do for the people at present. Amazing isn't it? And the cooling of the buildings?... it's water.

Another piece of information...the Sheikhs are not allowed to erect pillars of their images so they have pictures of themselves on billboards and such, as you can see in the pictures. They even have highways named after themselves.
