2017..Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone!

I had my left thumb joint rebuilt Dec 30th. I am so relieved that the pain I have had for the last 3 years will be gone and the healing process will go by fast. Thank God.
It's actually February and my thumb is doing better every day. 2 more months of a cast (that has a zipper so I can take it off) and then I should be okay. Work, work, work, on physical therapy. :) I did cut my hair off in pixie style...I can't use a curling iron and blow dry with one hand...soo off it went.

Mom has been gone 4 yrs now Jan 31st. I miss her every day. I talk to her every day and sometimes I cry and sometimes I laugh. Good memories.

Hubby is starting new job the 20th...we are both so happy about the move. He will be Senior Project Manager and have very good benefits. But mostly he will be happy.Yay!

Jason is working in the plumbing business and loves it. Working towards certification and then eventually have his own business Yay! I'm so proud of him.
Jason and Mariah are divorcing soon and he will get the kids every weekend.

Gage has joined the Marines and has been in boot camp almost a month. He say "it's not as bad as he expected". That's a good thing. I'm so proud of him.

Not much else going on....

Take care all....

Happy New Year 2016

Hello everyone,

Great Christmas and a quiet New Year. Paul fixed great meals for both celebrations...he's such a good cook. Santa was good to both of us. In March we'll have been together for 24 yrs. Never thought. lol

2015 was a busy year for Paul and also for me. I have been volunteering at the nearest hospital since end of 2012 and pulling extra shifts along the way. I am also going to train for the gift shop next month. I really like volunteering. It's so rewarding.

It's been almost 3 years since Mom has been gone (1-30-2013) and it is just as hard now as then. My heart really hurts since her passing. I still start heading to the phone to call her. There are so many things I still want to talk with her about or I need her advice. Doesn't every daughter? lol
Please, while you can, get tapings of your parents and also keep messages from them. I deleted the messages I had of her, thinking I would be getting more within a few weeks.... and then she was gone. I miss her and her voice.

In May, Gage will be graduating from High School...and a few weeks later he'll be 18yrs old. Hard to believe its that time already....I can still picture him when he was 2 months old. I wish I could see the grandkids more....they are all growing so fast and I am missing out. Of course living half way across the country doesn't help. 3 day, 10hr a day of driving, that I can't drive by myself because I fall asleep at the wheel or a 3 hour plane ride.... it's hard.

I wish you all a healthy, safe, terrific New Year with many happy memories.!

Much Love!

02-13-2015 Life is slow.

Friday the 13th....I'm not superstitious, so its an okay day.

Its been 2 years since Mom's passing. I'm still hurting, but I don't cry very often any more... I still walk towards the phone to call her and remember she won't be answering the phone. But I feel she knows what I want to tell her. I talk to her often...I miss her very much.

Hubby is working very hard for the company he works for. They changed their hours to 0645 to 1715, so his commute time home is about an hour or more in bad weather or if there's an accident and he's at work by 0545 because leaving any later than 0500, the traffic is horrible. I mentioned something about moving closer to his work and he said no way. So there you are. lol

I miss blogging often but, for the life of me, there's not to much to blog about right now. B.o.r.i.n.g.

My Lymphedema is under control. The total massage time takes 4.5 to 5 hours a day, I usually do my legs, 3 hours, first thing in the morning from 5am to 8am or there abouts. Then I do chores and usually do my arm about 1 or 2pm for 1.5 to 2 hours depending on how much my arm aches. My arm is my weakest area. I'm protective of it the most.

I hope that you all are doing well and happy.

Take care

2014-1-30 Mom...it's been 1 year since you've been gone

I miss you so very much and love you more.
No more pain or hurts and now you can have happiness.

For all the times you gently picked me up,
When I fell down,
For all the times you tied my shoes
And tucked me into bed,
Or needed something
But put me first instead.

For everything we shared,
The dreams, the laughter,
And the tears,
I love you with a Special Love
That deepens every year.

Thank You Mom

2014-1-16 Mom

Today was the last time I saw my Mom. She passed away two weeks later.

I was with her for 6 weeks and now cherish every minute of that time with her. I came home 1 year ago today getting home at 6pm. I called her to tell her I was home and she was sad that I left but we started planning my next visit for March.

If only I had made her come home with me. If only....

She called me "the General" at the end of my visit because I made her do things she didn't want to... but it made her strong. Strong enough to walk on her own, to do her own medications, to drive to her Dr. appointments, do her banking and to drive to the store. Things she couldn't do when I arrived.  December 2nd.

I miss you so much, Mom. I love you more.

This was one of that last pictures I took of her.

October 15th 2013

Today is my son, Jason's, 39th Birthday. It seems like last week that he was born and I was so happy to have him in my life. He was so cuddly. I am so proud and love him very much.

We are heading up to the 5th wheel for hunting season. Hubby hunts bird. Not Bambi thank goodness. It'll be a nice getaway. just need to get in gear and get ready to go. Procrastination.

I am volunteering at the local hospital 2 days a week. I like it a lot. It's nice helping people. Nice to give back.

I miss Mom. Really do. I think about her every day. Some days are bad and I cry my heart out...but they are coming less and less. She's never far from me though. I know that.

It's raining here....I love the rain. The clean smell. But it means that snow is on the way....I hope not to soon. Last year was 8 months of winter and believe  you me I hated it. I was ready to pull my hair out. S.A.D. was definitely at our house.  Anyway the Farmers Almanac says hard winter...ohhh joy.

Hope you all have a great rest of your week and things are good at your homes.

9-26-2013 Sooo here we are....

I visited Jason and his family last month for 3 weeks ...it was so fun. Hectic at times but fun. Gage is 15, Zack is 10, Zavyan is 3 and Zandyr is 6 mos. 3 boys and finally a little girl. Gage has thinned down so much and is a bit taller than me and I'm 5'8". Zack is quite the video addict. Zavyan is 3 and that says a lot lol. Zandyr is crawling and standing up to things, but still can't sit on her own. She bypassed that. lol They now have a puppy...Bella...love that name. She looks like a yellow lab but actually is a mix. She's a character and so good with the kids. Hubby and I have just passed our 20 year anniversary. Haven't celebrated it because he's been working such odd hours and days too. So we'll wait until the job is finished and he's recouped. 20 yrs...can't believe it. I wish we lived near Jason and his family. I miss them so much. I am volunteering at the Hospital...but trying to find me a spot. By that I mean where I was has students so I am just sitting or pacing. So we are trying another area and then when the "snowbirds" go south, I can move into one of their spots. But I enjoy it. My Lymphedema is stable with the massage machine every day, but now my feet are acting up....burning, shooting pains and numbness. Neuropathy from chemo is my guess. They were numb 5 years ago but now the other symptoms have started. I don't see my Cancer Dr. until February. Will need to see my GP and go from there.

June 1, 2013 What's going on

The time has passed quickly...yet not really. It's been 4 months since Mom passed away. I can't tell you how many times a day I think... "I have to tell Mom about that or ask her this" and then I remember. I think of her every day and at least once every hour....but I don't cry every hour. There are actually days that I don't cry and others that I will cry for a few hours. It's very lonely without her...she was my best friend. I miss Mom...a lot. It's been raining ...a LOT! I think the reporters said it's rained every day (not all day) for 24 days so far. Gloomy gray skies and now the mosquitos are out. We went to a bonfire next door Friday and I came home with 15 bites on my ankles hand and neck...that's not counting the bites on my head, unreal. We had to leave early because I was getting eaten alive and yes, they bit through my compression stockings. Those buggers can get through anything....did you know that only the females bite? Males are just for breeding. My son Jason and his wife Mariah had a little girl on Feb 1st. Zandyr...she's pretty cute. I went to see her in April. The boys love her and are already protective. So now there are 4 boys and a girl. Gage will be coming for a visit June 22nd until July 28th. This will be his last year(?) visiting because he wants to work during the summer next year. So starting next year, maybe, I will be going out there to visit during the summer, an extra visit a year YAY! Zandyr at 2 months

1-30-2013 My Mom

In October I went to visit Mom........dad bought Mom a puppy. JJ...a medium sized terrier. He jumped a lot and when mom and I were walking out to the driveway go to a dog training workshop on a Saturday, JJ wrapped himself around moms feet, she was walking with her oxygen tank and the dog together, and down she went and ended up fracturing her pelvis...(but that was diagnosed later). She started hurting in November and went to get an x-ray due to pain...when the x-ray tech moved her leg to get the x-ray, she did something that hurt mom terribly...she couldn't walk without a walker after that...but the hospital sent her home anyway. A couple of days after Thanksgiving, mom was taken to Renown hospital because she couldn't walk at all. The pain was intense and dad couldn't do anything. She was there for a few days and then transferred to Rehab to learn to walk again. Dec 6th I arrived to take care of Mom... She wasn't in great shape. She was using a wheel chair mostly and a walker a little, she was frail, her thoughts were somewhat scattered, and she had lost weight. She's only 5'1" and so losing a few pounds is like losing 20# to some. She was 110 in October and now she was 95#. Skin and bones. She hadn't been eating. While in the hospital, she, Donnie and dad decided that an apartment on the end of the garage would be a good idea, warm, cheaper than assisted care, and a 1 story place for mom to live, so Donnie began building. Mom and I moved into a hotel. During that stay in the hotel I became "The General". I made her do things she said she said she couldn't do. Like, walk on her own, do her own meds, drive, eat well and do her banking. Our talks were so positive and she started believing in herself and that she could be strong again. So, at the end of a month she WAS strong and able to take care of herself. We both were so elated!! But when it came time to move out of the hotel, the apartment wasn't finished and we had to move back into the house. She was disappointed but there wasn't any place else to go that didn't cost an arm and a leg. But we made the best of it. I had been away from home for 6 weeks by this time and planned on returning to my hubby the 16th of January. Before I left Mom was very positive, doing her laundry, cooking her meals, sorting her clothing, sleeping well, going to her Dr. appointments, driving and visiting family. Granted it was slow moving but she could do it. I truly wanted to bring her home with me, but she said "no, my Dr.'s are here". I should have insisted. We could have found great Dr.'s here in MN. So, on the 16th I left her and came home. I cried at the airport and I cried on the plane. I talked to her every day as I had for the last 40 years. Sometimes 3-6 times a day. We laughed, joked and planned my next visit out in March.... Two weeks to the day later, she was gone. January 30th at 2:10am Mom passed away. I talked to her that afternoon, she was tired, but we laughed and talked for a while. I can't describe the emptiness I feel. Like I don't have my right arm. I feel lost. I miss her laugh and her smile. I wander around the house aimlessly. I think of something or see something on TV or in a book and pick up the phone to tell her about it or ask her opinion, but then I remember I can't call to hear her voice any more. I can't ask her questions or discuss the worlds troubles and how to fix them. I think of her and our times together every day. I loved spending time with her. Now, she can have peace, happiness, being with Nana, Papa, Ricky and Our Lord. I miss Mom...so very much. I love you Mom. To pieces...xoxoxoxo RIP Taken 1-5-2013

9-24-2012 Anniversary time

well... September 17th we had our 19th wedding anniversary. We have been together 20 1/2 years. Weird to say that. Many changes over the years. I would like to redo our vows sometime. Say something special. We went to dinner at a place known for their broasted chicken. I had ribeye. It was very good. Hubby's dad passed away July 28th it was sad to see him go but yet it was time. He was 93 and was ready. It was a sad time. Gage was here from July 9th to August 7th....unfortunately he was here during the end of the time with hubby's dad so we didn't get to do much with Gage. We did get Gage a PS3 to entertain himself some. We did say when he comes next year we will make it up to him. He was so good about everything and so grown up. .

2012 7-11 Concert

Went to see Neil Diamond....his voice is soooo mmmmmmmm....love it. He's 71 and still has it. I am so glad to be able to see him again. YES! Last time I was able to see him was in the 70's...in Vegas. He was hot then...lol

7-06 thru 8-8 2012

Gage is HERE!! He's almost as tall as me! (5'8") around 5'6"! Looks more like his Dad all the time. Beautiful smile and such a good kid. He's a typical teenager LOL texting, movies, (we don't have video games until later), biking, eating lol! Pictures to follow. Walt's passing.... During this time Hubby's Dad started going down hill. He was confused at times and aggressive at times. He was hospitalized and the placed in a nursing home. He passed away on July 28th in the afternoon. Thankfuly all his family surrounded him til the end. Hubby's Dad was 93. He was ready, he had very bad eyesight, diabetes using insulin, couldn't walk using a wheelchair and his hands didn't work very well either. He was a vigorious man in his day. He retired at age 57. He did sooo many things. Woodworking he loved, fashioning so many things for all our homes. He loved fishing, hunting, picking berries, sitting out on the dock listening to nature. He loved life. When his health started declining it was frustrating for him to not be able to do things like before, but he did as much as he could.

6-24-2012 New Bedroom Set

Well to add on to my birthday present is a complete new bedroom set with lamps! The bed arrives in August. (I haven't had a matching set for the last 20 years) and a chair and a 1/2 to sit on in the livingroom.! The couch we had was a joke and so we threw it out and bought two good Lane recliners...a his and hers lol. So the livingroom has 4 chairs in it and no couch...works for us. Oh a we got rid of the entertainment center and bought a new TV and TV console. Much better now. I can't believe it. I wake up and look around and it's weird...a good weird. Gage is going to be here the 9th of July! I can't wait! He's going to be 14 yrs old in 4 days. He was 2 yrs old yesterday it seems.

5-2-2012 My BD

It was my 60th birthday yesterday. I felt no different. Guess it isn't as big a milestone as I thought it would be. LOL I talked with Mom, Gina, Donna, Stacy, and Tracy. It was a relaxing day. Hubby bought me a beautiful necklace and fixed me a Steak and Lobster dinner. What a great guy! Diamonds and Rhodite necklace but sadly I am allergic to the Rhodite....so we took it back in and traded it for white gold and diamonds only...

2011 Our new basement bathroom

Hubby finished the basement bathroom!!! YAY!

The Linen closet is made out of the oak tree that hubby felled all by himself. He cut the log and divided desgned it to make the doors and framework. He did a great job. We painted the bathroom a chocolate brown and it turned so rich looking. It's a bit darker than these pictures. I love it...still have to get a shower curtain and rugs.

Flower eating seeds

Doesn't seem anyone reads these anymore but I will keep posting.

Not to much going on. We have a new backyard friend...we named him Flower. He's eating the sunflower seeds that the birds drop from their feeders.

Hubby is buying into his work company....the boss is letting him buy shares with his bonuses. So in about 10 years Hubby and Tim will own it. Hubby is already thinking more about the business than anything else. He's that way. Hope it doesn't devour him.

Went camping in the 5th wheel for 4 1/2 days over the 4th of July. It was relaxing ony thing was the mosquitos were horrendous, even hubby said so. So I stayed in the 5th wheel and played on the computer watched movies and sat in the screen tent area. We did sit out there to watch fireworks which were really great and right after that a huge thunder storm moved in...great timing! We had Ribs, Deep fried Turkey, poato salad, fruit salad, and other goodies. Had all the family there. Hubby and his brother went fishing, his brother caught a 4# Walleye off the dock and hubby caught zip...nil..nadah.

Happy Birthday MOM!!!!

Yesterday was your birthday and I wished I could have been there to take you out for it. I miss you Mom and love you more.

SOOO happy you are cancer free!!!! Great birthday present right? right!

February 28, 2011

End of February

Wow where did this month go! Worked some and was busy with other things, but where did it go?

I had my CT scan and it came back CLEAN!!!! as did my lab work!!! So I am cancer free! YAY!! Also had MRI of my brain...been having some memory loss since chemo and am getting concerned because Dr's said the memory loss from chemo usually comes back but sometimes doesn't...well mine hasn't. My brain is normal, nothing organically wrong, so I guess my memory loss will remain.

Hubby is doing the bathroom downstairs and it's going to look terrific when it's finished. Tiled on the floor and1/2 way up the wall. It will have a linen closet in it and a big shower. Can't wait for it to be finished and will then take pictures.

Hubby also recorded the neighbors son's band..they sounded pretty darned fine! I will post their music when it is put on CD.

Let's see what else when on...nothing that stands out in my mind except the weather...cold and colder....snow and more snow. YIKES! Wish it would stop but not likely.

The look on this little birdie's face is how I feel about the cold and snow

Happy New Year To All!!!

Ever see Wild Turkeys sitting in a tree? Well...here they are...I see this quite frequently LOL it is cool....we feed them during the winter along with the birds and squirrels.

The second picture is our Christmas tree....I love our tree.

The third picture is Hubby fixing Xmas dinner..this happens to be the Ceasar Salad from scratch....Prime Rib along with twice baked potatoes, broccoli with cheese sauce, homemade rosemary bread, and creme brulee' for dessert. He wouldn't let me in the kitchen while cooking...as we only have a 1 butt kitchen. It was the best dinner he has ever cooked. mmmmmmm

Always fight your vices, be at peace with your neighbors, and let the new year find you to be the best that you can be.

Beautiful Cardinal

The deck with first snow

This is a sunrise...havent seen one this red before.

Here are a couple of pictures of the first snow of the season, about 5 inches, then it kept compounding over the holiday so we ended up with about 8 inches, lol and the most beautiful sunrise I have seen here. Also my Thanksgiving Cactus was in full bloom by the Holiday. :)

I am thankful for ALL my family and my health and I love my job.

Thank care everyone.
