My Nana is no longer hurting....

My Nana passed away yesterday. She has been incapacitated for the last 2 years and has been in a private home, bedridden. She had 4 strokes and had been just a shell of herself for a long time. I am very sad to see her go, but at the same time, am glad that she will be with her family that has already made it to the other side. After Papa passed she didn't want to be on this earth. She wanted to be with him. Now her wish has come true. I didn't cry until I told my son, J, Nana had passed away and he started crying. It felt good to cry, for both of us. Jason is there and I told him to say a prayer for her in church today. The funeral is Wednesday. Mom and Dad are driving up today and G, my sister and J, her hubby, are driving in on Tuesday.

Nana taught me many things in life. How to clean a house, how to embroidery, how to iron, among other things. She was a great seamstress too....taught by Papa....she made drapes, coats, dresses, anything you wanted, she could make. I never received that talent unfortunatley, but my mom and sister did. She was a good cook also...I remember she fixed a very tender, flavorful roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, a vegetable, salad, and dessert every Sunday for lunch and then we could have what we wanted the rest of the day. That lunch was so yummy and is still one of my favorites. She also taught how to make that meal.

Papa taught me many things too...he passed on 12-8-2001.

I do and will miss them both very much and I thank the Lord for letting me have them in my life.

Well she held on for a very long time. I'm glad she's in peace now and hopefully your family will be in peace now too. My thoughts are with you!
