MRI results are in.....

Had the MRI Wednesday January 30th at 8am. Was on the table for about 25 minutes and told not to move. The gal was very nice. Afterward Hubby and I went goofing around and shopping for a new purse for me...70% off...YAY! and a WiFi router for the computers. Then we went to lunch at PF Changs....my favorite chinese restuarant in the cities. I had Tam Noodles...very good...chewy like gummybears and spicy due to the spices they cooked the noodles with. Hubby had some other noodle thing...I didn't care for it. Then we went home. Cold as heck that day -25 and it wasn't snowing!

Now, we were sitting at home last night around 5pm when the phone rang. Dr. was on the line. "Got the results of the MRI. Looks like there are 2 areas in the left and looks like the lymphnodes are involved, won't know for sure until we test them. Also there is a questionable area in the right side. So, I know we had discussed the bilateral mastecomy, you still want that? Yes? That is what I would recommend. Now I can schedule all this for next week. You had mentioned that you didn't want to get reconstruction until after the chemo, right? I think that is a good idea."
I did bring up the insurance, which by the way is still processing whether I should have the MRI or not. And then even if they OK it, it doesn't mean they'll pay for it, can you believe they actually said that?....does that make any sense? Why have insurance if you get answers like that? Anyway I told Dr. that his office needed to get preauthorization for the bilateral mastectomy before anything could be done (insurance preauthorizations take up to 2 weeks to get done). So his nurse is going to start working on that today. Hope they get it done fast. I want to get this over with. But patience is a virtue....(fingers drumming, drumming, drumming)....

His nurse just called...she has called the Utilization Committee at the hospital to get approval for staying overnight after surgery....they will contact the insurance company. BUT the question is....remove both or just the left. Since there isn't any noted cancer in the right, she said that that is prophylactic removal and that the insurance might not be approved for that. Lord, please let them decide to take both due to my family history. One shouldn't have to go through this twice. Amen

It's gray today and supposed to get to 26 degrees. Another heat wave! Maybe the sun will peek through...I love the sun.... need it. Maybe it'll come through.

Take care and have a good day! I'm going to start crocheting something.

Hang in there. I hate insurance companies...they suck! I'll be thinking of you and praying for your speedy return. Has Paul decided to return to Dubai or not? Love you.
