Coming along

This is the place we found the rug....this is the salesman. Nice guy.
So what do you think? The drapes make the room feel warmer and less echo-y.


We purchased some drapes and hung them. Gauze, chocolate brown. Very long! Our ceilings are 12 feet high and we easily could have hung these drapes from the top of the ceilings. I have to hem them, and that will be a chore, so will need help with that. I had to take down all the drapes (5 large windows) and iron them, then re-hang them. Oh yes, Hubby bought me an iron and ironing board! Wasn't that sweet of him? Actually, he even offered to iron them...sweet man....but I figured since he was hanging them, I would iron them. These pictures are taken before I ironed them.

Also purchased a rug. Feels much better than tile floors. Adds a little more home-y feel don't you think? We need to get a few more rugs for the bedrooms and maybe the hallway.

Next comes lamps and pictures. That will be hard because the lamps that I have seen so far, are tiny elaborate little things (if you have big tables, little lamps look weird) and since we have big tables, we need big lamps. Anyway, it'll be fun shopping for them.

Hubby gets some of next week off. We are going to tour the city by bus and then explore all the smaller malls and shops....well maybe not all of them, but I'll give the ol' college try! LOL
