Yes, it's raining and it rained yesterday too. Not consistantly, but the drivers slow wayyyy down (the roads get slick from all the tire residue when it's hot) and there is just enough wetness to raise the dust from the roads onto the cars to get them filthy. Which by the way, there are car wash people everywhere...mall parking lots, residential parking lots and garages, grocery store parking lots and some restaurant parking lots...for 15 Dirham ($4.00 American), they will wash the outside of your car. Very cool. Some people get their car washed several times a week. But it's nice to see it because everything gets pretty dusty from all the construction. The Palm trees and other plant life get green again instead of being slightly dusty brown. You know, they even wash the street signs with a mop thingy? With soap and water. Different. It's great. No dust inside the apartment though, the windows are sealed tight.
Here's a blurb on the weather here:
Dubai enjoys an arid subtropical climate, with blue skies and sunshine all year round. The hottest months are between June and September, when temperatures can soar to 113°F (45°C) and more during the day and humidity levels are very high. Even the sea temperature touches on 104°F (40°C) during the summer months, and swimming pools at hotels are usually cooled to be refreshing. Temperatures are only slightly more moderate the rest of the year, the coolest time being between December and March. There is very little rainfall in Dubai, but when showers do fall it is mainly in the cooler months.
So....it's supposed to rain through Tuesday and then sunny. I wonder if the weather people forecast the weather better here. LOL LOL I love the sun and these gray days are ok because they don't last for long periods of time.
