Ever think about.....

These are a wonder to see when you drive by. The Berj Al Arab and the Jumeriah Beach Hotel they call it "The Wave"

I have seen so many women with their hands Henna-ed. It's such an art.
This is such a sight. Gorgeous
The Emirates State Bird...beautiful and so stately. They cover the birds eyes until they want them to "catch" their prey. Be it meat or another animal.

Ever think about random things?

Like...bugs....have you ever just watched them? They really are fasinating.
We don't have many bugs in Dubai that I have seen. I mean not up 44 floors anyway. Occasionally a fly or 2...they are agressive...they want that food. But as for ants or spiders and anything else...I haven't seen any. Anywhere. I see birds, a lot of birds. No dogs....only 2 skinny cats and of course camels. The camels smell but no flies are around them. The beach is clean and has shells on it but no sand flies or anything else.

NO MOSQUITOS! That is wonderful! I hate those little things and I actually think I'm allergic, because when they do bite me, the bite area gets huge and the itching is intense, for days, then it gets infected most of the time. Takes awhile to go away.

I watched a spider spin a web once....it was wonderful to watch. How such a little thing could create something so strong (to other bugs) and beautiful. To see the web in the morning's dew and when the sunlight hits it.... it's a miraculous thing.

Now another thing .....the plastics here. Like shopping bags....they use the really thick plastic bags, like the USA did many many years ago, until they figured out that using thinner plastic bags would still give one the same strength...I can't believe the thickness of the plastic bags here.

Also...Dubai isn't concerned with air pollution yet. The buildings they are building have the technology and are equipped with the anti pollution equipment, but they are not being utilized or hooked up to work. Yet...you would think hearing the Americans talk about the poor air quality, that the Emiraties would jump on the ban wagon for pollution control. I do hope they catch on to that, I would hate to see smog hanging over the city....Well maybe soon I hope.

In some areas they are so advanced and in others they are so behind. But it's a beautiful area and culture. I love it. At some point it'll all come together.
