Finally....

Well the drapery people came, measured all the windows, 5 of them, showed us samples of their wares....I picked what I liked and then he gave a price.....16,600 Dirham or $5000.00 for 5 windows! For a thin drapery over a sheer drapery. Holy cow!! I thought Paul would drop his jaw! But we both held it together pretty darned well until the guys left, then we looked at each other and said no way! I couldn't believe it.

The cell phone guy came about 2pm and I told him Hubby wasn't there, so I'd sign for it...but ohhh no.... a woman isn't allowed to sign for a phone....so he left and I called Hubby at work. Hubby called the cell company and told them to come at 5. The guy showed up at 5:30pm. Now, I am a person that is used to doing things myself.... In Dubai, a woman is not allowed to purchase or sign for a land line phone or cell phone.....the MAN has to give the state permission for the woman to use/have a phone, and then the phone is in his name anyway. Imagine THAT going over in the States! LOL LOL

Then the maid guys came 6:10pm...it was Thursday after all, their day to come and won't be back until Sunday. They cleaned and Paul and I stayed in the computer room until they wanted in there. We are going to try to get them to come during the early afternoon or morning rather that at dinner time. One can only hope.

We went to the IBN Buttutta Mall looking for King sized sheets 200cm x 200cm (78x90 inches) and they have very few of that size. They come mostly in queen. Besides, it's rare they have King size pillowcases! They are all standard size. So, I guess I will have to order from the States and have them sent over. It's a different world over here. Good things and inconvienent things. Just will have to work it out. But very interesting. I love it.

Forgot the camera when we went to the mall...so sorry...but will go again soon and will take pictures of it then. The domes are decorated so beautifully, I really want to share it with you.

Have a great day!

Wow...I wouldn't do well with the man having to sign for everything. Sounds like you're learning though, so that's good. Love the pictures of the bathroom. Clean feet are alway a good thing. I guess? Keep the updates coming!
