Gage went into the brush behind his friends house and came out itching... because he didn't tell me that he had been in the brush, I thought it was mosquito or deer fly bites....he itched and itched for a couple of days, when I finally really looked and there were blisters all up to mid thigh, including between 3 toes.Thank God he didn't get any on his face! I wish he had spoken up but you know kids.....well Papa Paul got on the internet and we found a product called TECNU EXTREME....ran out and bought it. It stopped the itching within seconds and lasted 4 hours.....the next day it lasted 8 hours and the following day it lasted all day.....Thank God for Tecnu. His wounds had to get worse before they got better..of course....but are on the mend now. It's been 2 weeks now and finally he is able to wear shoes and socks and play outside. We had to throw away 2 pairs of shoes because they had the sap on them and by wearing the second pair, Gage reinfected himself.....so out they went. But he and Papa Paul went and bought 2 new pairs of shoes and he picked them out himself.
