Hey....it's July 5th and things are going well.
Gage now has poison ivy rash on his legs...well, we told him to stay out of the brush, but being a kid....LOL LOL.
His 9th birthday went pretty good. We took him and a friend to the Mall of America to the Amusement Park and bought all day passes for $25.00 each. They rode one ride and we went to lunch. Then back to the park they rode the same ride as before, when Gage said to Matt, "you pick the next ride"....we walked around that park 3 times I think and I finally said "pick a ride Matt"...he said "I'm afraid of heights".(all the rides are up in the air) I wanted to say, "you've known about this for 2 weeks, why didn't you tell me before we came here!", but all I said was "let's go...no use staying here". Even his father knew for 2 weeks we were going and he even brought Matt over that morning and never said a word about Matt being afraid of heights. $50.00 out the window...Gage isn't going to ride by his self... so we left. I was fuming. Got home, had cake, opened the presents and I went to my room to cool down. The friend stayed the night and then left the next afternoon. Not one word said. Not thanks, I'm sorry, or anything else. That's the last time I do that. Next year will be a movie or bowling.
Other than that...things are going well. Gage is being a kid and eating us out of house and home! LOL LOL Rides his bike, plays videos, watches movies, and cartoons. Typical kid stuff.
One concern though...he's gun obsessed....knows all the powerful rifles/hand guns by name and what they will kill, yet reading a paragraph from a Harry Potter book, he doesn't have any idea what he just read. Reads the words but has no idea what they mean or what the sentence said. Any ideas out there?
My x-sister-in-law Donna and her hubby, Dave, flew in for a friend of theirs wedding. They stopped by for a few days on their way back and it was sure good to see them. I have been friends with Donna for 40 years....imagine! We went to Cabella's and Gander Mountain. They loved it.

Sounds fun! I would be pissed too! I feel really bad for Gage for him not being able to ride the rides. I bet he was mad too! Guns...eek...too young to know that much about it. I'd be worried too! Looks liek you are enjoying him there. Too bad he has to go back huh?
