Labor Day Weekend is here......
Saturday morning about 6am, we went to the Farmer's Market and bought a basket of beans. We had a polish dog for breakfast (do you believe that!) and then wondered around for a bit. Found some great corn on the cob and purchased that also. Then we went home to can the beans. Our first attempt at doing it ourselves and we ended up with 27 pints of french style and cut style! Only 1 can didn't seal. I'd say that is pretty darned great. Gosh we are getting so domestic!
We had Stacy and Jon over for dinner last night. DH fixed his wonderful babyback ribs. The meat fell right off the bone. We also had the corn from the Market which was soo sweet and juicy.....mmmmm. We would have had the beans, but they were still hot from processing. DH also made 2 strawberry-rhubarb pies. Delicious! Needless to say the dinner was a success. Jon and Stacy had a good time, as did we. Stacy showed me a new way to knit without the knitting needles. Much better for my arthritic hands. It's going to be fun to see what I can create, besides a mess. LOL LOL.
DH went fishing this morning and caught quite a few fish. He was excited.
Our gr-son called while DH was gone and he sounded so excited about his first week at school. He has a male teacher (his first) and is looking forward to the rest of the year, making new friends and learning new things. Thank God he loves school.
Tonite we are going to Bonnie and Terry's for dinner. They are great people. Looking forward to seeing them. It's been awhile. We need to catch up on the haps.
Tomorrow we are vegging I hope. It will be nice to just relax with each other.
