Road side garbage..so sad to have this on this beautiful Island
Someone dumped this off on the street before the Power Plant
Tuesday morning fog...there is a freeway in that fog somewhere LOL
Sunday morning was beautiful, we decided to take a drive since we didn't have the time to drive into NY we thought closer to "home" would be best. North...we went north and ended up in Huntington Long Island, NY which dates back to 1653. Really quaint little town...beautiful homes, old and new, big and small. We drove around and ended up on the Penisula...where the lots are about 1/4 acre with the lake behind the house and the ocean across the 2 lane street from the front of the house....tiny space. If there were a big wake, the street and possible the front yards would be flooded....beautiful homes though, oh yeah. The town was really cute, touristy, but cute. We're going back when we have a whole day.
Hubby drove me to his job site...I did notice while driving that there is a tremendous amount of roadside garbage on the Island. How sad, deters from the beauty of the countryside. What I envisioned when we came here, was houses to houses side by side...but there are soooo many trees and countryside areas. Anyway, I digress...on the way to Hubby's work site, someone dumped off a boat full of garbage, unbelievable. Like no one cares.
Monday it rained all day and night with the wind blowing constantly...Tuesday morning I woke up to peasoup fog. We have a freeway across the road from the hotel...but we couldn't see it until about 2 pm....and right now, it's still raining. I love the rain...it's so cleansing and smells good too.
Hubby has to work next weekend so we won't be out and about. Until next time...and I'll work on getting better pictures, I promise.
