Well, I had my 1st chemo today.....took 2 hours....taking IV Doxorubicin and IV Cytoxin (both chemo drugs) then tomorrow go in to get a shot of Nulasta which increases white blood cell growth. This regime will go on every 2 weeks for 3 more times. Then I change chemo drugs for another every 2 weeks for 4 times plus the Nulasta shots.
Then they are talking radiation for 6 weeks and then a pill for 5 years. After all that there still is no guarantee that it won't come back within a 10 year time period. LOL LOL No guarantees in anything......it would be like I never had this breast cancer. 1 in 30 women get breast cancer.....so....
I get to keep my hair for another week, then it'll start falling out. I'll get my head shaved. I have a couple of turbans already and Mom is sending me all her things that she had when hers fell out.
So, for the little side effects I have so far: a slight metallic taste in my mouth and a little headache and slight nausea at times. Nothing I can't handle. I'm pushing the fluids though....as ordered. (minium of 100cc water a day if not more).
They have great nurses and a very good Dr. it'll work out great.
Think I'll go lay down for awhile.
Take care and have a great day.
