Just wanted to vent here...........
Mom had her CT scan of the liver on Tuesday, Oct 3rd......she asked the tech what do you think? He said...can't say, but you will be here for these, 2-3 more times. So she called me and was scared to death. I tried my best to ease her mind.
Then, wait... wait... wait... for the Dr. to call results.......nothing. She called on Thursday and the nurse said that she would have someone call her with results that day and said, ohhh by the way.....your appointment with the surgeon has been changed to Wednesday(11th) AFTER you see the cancer Dr. on Tuesday......(appointment was to be on Monday the 9th).
Here it is SUNDAY and no one called by Friday 5:00pm to tell her the results of the CT scan. EEEERRRRRRRRR!! Mom has been worrying all weekend. So what the hell is up with that?
Doesn't anyone give a damn as to the state of mind of the client?!! I mean Mom is really scared...the tech didn't help and the surgeons office doesn't seem to care or know how to follow through and this isn't the first time of this stuff has happened through this Dr's office. I am totally pissed to say the least... being of a medical background I would never "forget" a patient in that state of mind...I would do all I could to get that info to them or at least call back and tell them "I will have to work on it and get back to you by so & so", and then do it. I would call the Dr's office myself but then there is the concern that if I say anything to this Dr's office manager or to the Dr. himself that they will treat Mom worse. It is so frustrating!
If I were in the same town I would have gone down there and sat in the office until they gave me the information......but that's me.
Any advice or opinions?

I would hope that since they didn't call, that that means it's nothing to be worried about. i would think if it was serious they would've called right a way. maybe this is a good sign. I'll pray it is anyway!
Hi Kris. I agree, too, with Julie. Hoping that because they didn't call right away that it's not anything to worry about. I have to tell you, though, we've experienced that a lot here, too, with my Mom. It's TERRIBLY rude. She'll be told she'll get a call right away...than nothing for days on end. She has to hunt them down and get answers. She's the patient. I'm with you about waiting in the office to get an answer(s). This is scary to people..patient and family. Needless to say, I'm sorry this is going on. Keep us posted. Wishing all of you well.
